The Conference will be held between Sunday 30th August and Sunday 6th September 2020, in the facilities of the Museo Arqueológico Regional de Madrid. It is organised by members of several Spanish institutions (MNCN-CSIC, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Museo Geominero, Museo Arqueológico Regional, Dinopolis Foundation , Instituto de Prehistoria (IIIPC) – Universidad de Cantabria), and is supported by the Spanish Paleontological Society, Transmitting Science, the International Council for Archaeozoology (ICAZ), the Sociedad de Amigos del MNCN and the TaphEn European network.

The location of Madrid right in the centre of the Iberian Peninsula makes an easy destiny for other private trips before or after the meeting to historic and especially valuable touristic places. Places like Sevilla is at 2:30 hours, Córdoba 1:30 hours, Valencia 1:30 hours, Barcelona 3:00 hours, or local trains to Aranjuez, Segovia or Toledo.  Inside the city of Alcalá de Henares, most buildings have recovered the original structure making the city a charming town.

Alcalá de Henares town is 35kms from Madrid capital, half an hour distance by train/car. The airport, Adolfo Suarez-Barajas, located between Madrid capital and Alcalá de Henares town, connects different cities all over the world.

  • Train: There are no direct trains from Madrid Barajas Airport to Alcalá de Henares, however it is possible to take the train from terminal T4 towards Principe Pio, and change at Atocha to line C-7, or C-2, in the direction of Alcalá de Henares, or Guadalajara. This option takes around 1 hour for 3,25€.
  • Bus: The most direct and cheap option to get from the airport to Alcalá de Henares. Bus no. 824 leaves from terminals T1, T2 and T3, and travels directly to Alcalá de Henares. It takes approximately 45 minutes  for 3,60€.
  • Taxi: Taxis are a very convenient way to get straight to your hotel door in Alcalá de Henares. Generally a taxi takes 25-35 minutes for 30-45€.
